Gettin' ready for a redo

When we moved in our house we gutted the master bathroom.  There were a few problems with some water damage and molding.  So we ripped everything out and started over.  It now is in the process of being dry walled and tiled.  AND the best part I just got my lights in for above my mirrors!  I love them.  Here is a sneak peak of what I am doing in there.... pictures to follow when completed.

Ready for the weekend

Oh I am so glad it is FRIDAY!!!  WHOO HOO.... I am exhausted.  This week has been really long I feel like.  Christmas is getting closer everyday and it is showing in the retail world!!  Busy, busy, busy.  I am ready to relax and unwind this weekend by heading to an estate sale in the mornin', party at night and then lunch with friends on Sunday.  AND this is my 100th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY. 

One thing that always strikes my fancy are vanities.  I love the feminine touch that they add to any room.  Vanities are very easy to create if you don't have an actual vanity and they serve as a great way to organize and display pretty little muses such as jewelry, perfume and other little trinkets.

This is my vanity in my master bedroom.  I found it at an antique mall, painted it and added knobs.  I LOVE it.

Christmas item of the day

Ok here is the item of the day, Pandora.  This is a GREAT gift for anyone.  From young to old and GREAT for someone who is hard to buy for because you can alway add to it for all occasions.  For those of you not familiar with Pandora it is a modern day charm bracelet.  You buy charms that screw on a bracelet.  They also offer different kinds of jewelry like earrings, necklaces and rings.  It is goregeous and a great gift.

Christmas Countdown

Thomas Paul

Before I share about Thomas Paul I wanted to tell you about Lonny.  A new online magazine that is FABULOUS!!!  It is a lot like the beloved Domino, that was put to rest.  It was my personal favorite.  So needless to say I was quite excited when Lonny came out.  Their first premiere issue was last month.  Go and check it out, great ideas!

I wanted to share with you some of Thomas Paul's creations.  I have always loved his pillows, plates and accessories.  He is now creating fabric.

My weekend

I love going to anything that sells old stuff.  Especially antique stores, estate sales, thrift shops and peddlar's malls.  I just LOVE it.  This past weekend I went to an estate sale that was down the road from my parents home in Shelbyville, KY.  There was some wonderful stuff.  Of course most people were there very early and got the good furniture.  I ended up with some good stuff to though!!  I love my patio furniture that I scored as well as a few new pieces for my china collection spread.

 

I have been looking for older patio furniture.  I like the vintage look of this.  The cushions came with them!  I like the color. 

A pair of crystal salt and pepper shaker.  The shape is very cute.

These are little napkins to put under glasses that are monogrammed with a "W", but I loved them and had to get them.  They could also be used for an "M".... I guess.

In full bloom

Everywhere I look lately from design to fashion I see rosettes.  I think they are so cute.  A new discovery of mine is Emersonmade.  This blog has adorable rosette pins, belts, purses and some extra stuff.  It is such a cute site and I plan on ordering some rosettes very soon.  I would love to put them on my dresses, sweaters, jackets and shoes.  Speaking of shoes this seller on ETSY sells shoe clips!  These rosettes would dress any shoe up!  What a cute idea.

Found!

I have found some art that I just love!  Her name is Amanda Talley.  Her studio is in New Orleans and she is so very creative.  Her art is modern and sophisticated with wonderful color selections.  I would love a pair or 3 for going up my stairs in my family room.  She has become a celeb in the blog world being featured in many of the most read blogs.  I love, love, love her work.
