To market, to market...

I do apologize for the lack of posting.  I have been extra busy at the store and by the time I am home I am exhausted.  And I have discovered that having a business is like having HORRIBLE attention deficit... I am always pulled in 500 million directions!  Then I don't finish what I need to finish.  Does anyone identify?

Well this week the posts will be slim because we (my mon and I own the store together) are off to market to find some wonderful, new things for the store and might sneak some things in there for ourselves!  you never know what you are going to find.  Although I love market, I still love my antique malls and flea markets better.  There is a great flea market in Atlanta where we are headed, but I am  not sure if we will make it.  I sure would love to try!  It is called Scott's.  One of my other blog reads, Eddie Ross, has been there to take people on tours.  We were suppose to go with him last time, but ended up not going to market.  Oh well, maybe another time.  When I am back from Atlanta I will have some great posts and ideas for you!!  So please don't think I am not coming back.... I AM!  But  I am not leaving you empty handed... here are some pictures of my bedroom.  I forgot to post these.  And I will be back in a bit some new stuff.  Have a good day!

Lemonade Stand

Summer is here in full force this week here in Kentucky.  The air is think and it is HOT.  I think there is no better way to beat this summer heat than with a tall glass of ice, cold lemonade.  Why not have a lemonade stand in the process.... it could be a way to make a little extra money for those curtains I have been needing!!!  But my lemonade stand would not be just ANY lemonade stand, it would of course need to be decorated.  This Lemonade Stand at the Palm Springs Parker resort is my kind of "Lemonade Stand".

If I was to design my own lemonade stand it would go something like this:

PKS1-4440773reg

These would be placed around to add pops of color...

vase, Kate Spade

La-patisserie-1

This would be used to display my lemons and light fare....

stand from, Rosanna

PKSLCI1-4574915reg

AND these would be my serving piece.

plate, Kate Spade

My lemonade would presented like this

Lemonade_400-2

but I would use these glasses..

StemlessWineSuiteF9

And finally I would store the lemonade in this..

glasses, CB2

I do think more drink options would be nice!

Now come to my stand and get some lemonade!!!!

Lastly...

And to finish up the posts on the house here are the bedrooms and some random hallways.  I have to say that the bedrooms will be the first things to be redone.  Although I do like them, they aren't my favorite.  But they will do for now.  You have to decide between wants and needs in life..ya know?  Even though it is VERY hard for a designer :).

This is BEFORE Bedroom:

Ok I absolutely do not like this curtain... (if you do I am very sorry) but I want something more tailored and not as balloony (not a word I know) but this is what I have now and it will do.  If there is every anything that you all need to ask just comment me!  I am building up some readers so please keep coming back.  There will good stuff coming up after the house segment is complete.  Also, great new items at the store!!!  See you all tom.

Before and Afters.

Most of the time I am so good about taking pictures before I start a project so I will have something to compare to when I finished.  Well of all the things to slack on was this house!!  I forgot to take before pictures of a lot.  Especially the kitchen.  That was the biggest makeover in the whole house... but you can imagine... blue linoleum, oak cabinets, white walls.  Not very decorator friendly.  But lucky for you today I have some before and after pictures to show you.

We still have some electrical work to finish up... aka the cords draping across the entire fireplace area!  Cords drive me NUTS.  They are the most unorganized little subjects.  But that is off the subject...  But this design was done on a budget and was so fun to create a warm and inviting space that represents me as a designer and homeowner.  I am very eclectic with my designing meaning I DO NOT PREFER to go to Pottery Barn and buy a whole set up.  I like to pull from different areas and create a piece of art.  The art being the room for some of you who might not be following me since it is late and I am trying to finish without going to sleep.  Have a wonderful day and I will be back tomorrow with more rooms in my house.

And on to the next room...

This is the dining room.  The furniture was passed down from my grandmother who passed away and I love having a little piece of her with me.  The curtain fabric was found at a local thrift store and then I made them into panels.  All other trinkets and furniture vintage.

Ok I am really, for real back.

This past almost 3 months have been absolutely crazy at Rabbit in the Moon!!!  We are not complaining, but when it is busy it is hectic and there isn't much time for anything but the lovely store.  So I am switching gears and going to let you see some of my home.  We have redone a lot of things and I will do my best to provide you with the info.

FIRST:  THE KITCHEN
